Major healthcare providers nationwide have seen an increase among entrepreneurs who offer insurance to their employees, a change that can be directly attributed to healthcare reform, according to Forbes.
The Small Business Majority released a report, revealing that 40 percent of businesses with three to nine employees said that] the tax credits give them an incentive to provide insurance to employees, and 33 percent of small business owners who do not currently offer insurance said they are more likely to offer it as a result of the tax incentive.
An additional 75,000 new employees were added to United Health Group from businesses with fewer than 50 employees, Forbes reported. Additionally, Coventry Health Care, a small business insurance provider, added 115,000 new employees in 2010, representing an 8 percent increase.
A major issue among preventing small businesses from offering coverage is that they lack understanding regarding the healthcare reform, specifically the tax credits, according to the survey.
